Instructions for Chairs

Please find below guidance notes which have been compiled to ensure the successful running of the online sessions.  These notes will be updated so please check back periodically for updates. 

  • Please make sure you have consulted the programme and are aware of the date and time of the session you are chairing and are familiar with that specific part of the programme. 
  • The role of the chair is to introduce each talk and moderate all questions from attendees, received in-person and online, and to ensure that speakers keep to the time allocated. 
    • Attendees in-person will raise their hand.
    • Attendees joining remotely will either write their question in the chat or virtually raise their hand. 
  • The chair person(s) will receive a copy of the programme for their session which will include which presentations are being delivered 'live' (in-person or online) and which talks are pre-recorded.
